Summer 2021’s going’s on!

It can be difficult when our plans don’t quite work out as planned. How many of us had many many plans changed or cancelled over the past year and a half? How many more are all up in the air? I certainly didn’t expect all exhibitions and shows to be cancelled overnight. Like so many in the arts, our futures looked pretty dim for quite a while. So, when my online sales started to grow and grow, I was in shock and ecstatic all in one!! It has been so encouraging to see people checking out my work on my website and contacting me and buying my work. I find that so humbling when someone is invested in my work, and I have to say “thank you” to all my customers for their support over the past months and a grateful thankyou to God for his provision. Here’s to many more sales in the coming months until we can all meet again!
Actually, on reflection I enjoyed not having the pressure to prepare, transport and set up for exhibitions for this period of time as it gave me more time in the studio to create. Yip there is a plus sometimes to the bumps in the road! Times like this can make us more resourceful too don’t you think?
This Spring and Summer I have started to paint bigger, working from my imagination mainly I have found so liberating and watching the painting flow is exciting. Watch this space for what is coming up in my shop of my new work.
When our lockdown eased this summer, it was great to be able to offer my retreats again. Something so normal that we all took for granted was so refreshing to be able to enjoy again, and because I do “one on one” and “one on one plus one” retreats it makes it possible to for me to offer retreats again. I ensure we have plenty fresh air flowing through the gallery and the space to be the 2 meters apart ensuring we are all safe while enjoying a fab day.
Here are some photos of my latest retreat for two new budding artists! We had such an amazing day, with great paintings achieved and lots of fun along the way including stopping for our yummy lunch together enjoyed outside in our pergola in the garden…..sun shining!! These guys are coming back again…..that says it all to me!
